Hello, my name is Camille. I may only be 16, but age does not determine strength or knowledge. Surely you can understand that. Today we are growing up much faster than our normal age allows. Because we are forced to.
But I can not speak for you. You may be different, because everyone has different circumstances.
From a very young age, I lost my mother. At first it hurt, I was 5, what do you expect?
But I learned to cope with it, and while I was still able to be a kid - play, have sleepovers, dress up. Y'know the normal things.
But I also had to take on the responsibilities of an adult. It was up to me to make sure the house was clean, that my dad and my brother had dinner when it was dinnertime. I had to make sure that my dad was happy, try to please him. I hated doing anything wrong, because I was supposed to be "Perfect". And for the most part I was, until the fighting started.
I'm not trying to complain, or invoke pity in you, i'm simply putting out there what I've been through. My dad was a single parent raising two kids, normal right? Well in America it is... But he never had a stable job, we never had the best house, we never had the easy life. It was ALWAYS something I had to work for. And I thought I could do it. I because 18, when I was 8. I didn't want to be the little kid anymore, I wanted to please people and make them happy.
I wanted to give them reasons to be proud of me, I didn't want them to have to work any harder than they already were, and me, the carefree kid, why wouldn't I be able to help? I had every tool at my disposal, and I tried to utilize it. I wanted to be the kid that my dad could look at with pride, the one he could always rely on. I wanted to be his perfect daughter.
But we all know how that is, right? Because I never was, and never will be, the only one that felt that way. But what makes me different? I guess that's just who I was born to be. I guess that's just what makes me tick.
I am me.
I am not perfect.
I try to do the best that I can, set goals that I can reach, and do anything to achieve them.
But I've gotten a little lost along the way, and now here I am, struggling with Anorexia, Depression, and Self Harm.
My blog isn't supposed to be a happy place. Or an advice giving place. It's just a place that I can write out all my thoughts, everything I feel, without being judged!
Maybe you'll find solace in my struggles, someone to understand. Maybe you'll find interest in watching my journey through my life, or maybe you'll even take one look at this, and turn away. Every reaction is a lesson, and I am here to learn.
This blog is access into my most private thoughts.
With that being said, enjoy!
